SCOPE This Manufacturing Specification is to establish criteria for surface preparation and painting of outside surfaces of compressors, base plates, etc.
APPLICABILITY This Specification applies to all product lines as produced at Cooper Turbocompressor in Buffalo New York.
DISCUSSION Proper surface preparation is the keystone to a quality paint job. Improperly prepared surfaces lead to paint film defects. It is imperative that the surface of the part is properly and sufficiently cleaned, free of all rust, dirt, grease and oil prior to the application of a coating.
